About Saanidhya
Saanidhya was created from a deeply felt need — the need to hold close the music that has quietly shaped our memories, our language and our emotional world. Kannada Sugama Sangeetha has always been more than a genre; it is the warmth of familiar words, the comfort of melody, the gentle companionship of poetry. Yet, its stories and the people who built it have long been scattered across distant pages and forgotten corners. Saanidhya is an attempt to gather them with love, so no seeker of this music ever feels lost.
Within this space, the journey of Sugama Sangeetha — its birth, growth and changing rhythms — unfolds softly. The poets who wrote its soul, the composers who gave it wings, and the singers who carried it into our hearts are remembered here with gratitude. This website is also a tender salute to every individual who has held Sugama Sangeetha close and worked to uplift it — the devoted writers, poets, singers, composers whose faith kept the music alive even when recognition was scarce.
Saanidhya is also created in memory of Shri. Madikeri Nagendra, a respected Sugama Sangeetha artiste who enriched the field during the 1970–2005 period. His dedication to music, his performances and his commitment to popularising Kannada lyrical expression continue to inspire generations. This website stands as a humble effort to honour his legacy while advancing his passion for making Sugama Sangeetha more accessible.

Saanidhya aspires to serve as a meaningful resource and a lasting digital archive for this cherished musical tradition.
